55/ss UW question
I wanna start doing this with my guildie, and I just have a couple questions.
I searched for a ss/55 guide but no luck 1) what areas in UW can this handle 2) is it HM or NM 3) how does one cast SS in a way where they don't attract aggro? |

it is my understanding that 55 builds can't run UW anymore because of the added creatures that rend enchantments; making your 55 naked and dead. I don't know anything about SS and will look into it.

SF / SS works much better compared to 55/SS. You can aggro as many enemies as you want, and you can clear the whole chamber as well.

Me and an alliance member was running this just the other night. The 55 is basically the tank and hold all aggro. Also, what AJC posted is correct, the 55 needs to have [Spell breaker] or else the Dying Nightmares will strip the 55's Enchants and one shot him.
1) We didn't get too far into UW because I was new at it but we got to...Vale, and the spot where the Smite Crawlers are and some other part. I don't think UW is 100% farmable this way. 2) You can do it in both NM and HM, the only problem (AFAIK), is the Graspings in that when near death, they will use [Fear Me!] and drain your monks Energy. What my friend did was carry the normal Caster weapons and a staff with more energy so that when the graspings used [Fear Me!], he could switch weapon sets and still retain energy without worrying his enchantments won't be removed. 3) This part will be tricky. You have to line the monsters up in a way that you are body blocking them. A simple way to do this (I'm assuming you've beeen in UW) is when you first go in, go up the right stairs and aggro the monsters (The 55) and walk alongside the wall to the right. Once all the mobs are all gathered up, side step to the left a little bit as to 'body block' them, that way your SS can go in behind you without fearing the mobs will run around you. Also make sure that whenever Dying Nightmares show up, to kill them ASAP. It won't be hard to kill them because they have ~100 HP. I'm sure someone else can clean up this big wall of text I just posted but that is just the basics of a 55/SS UW team. Have fun and good luck. |

IcyFifty is also correct. using a perma SF is better to use than a 55/SS, but in HM, the Perma will have to use the weapon switching tactics also or else he won't be able to keep up SF.

What if [Blood Ritual] before i go in? I don't remember having to switch my weapon. Wont they die fast enough from SS? |

Trust me, they will use [Fear Me!] alot, we had all the Aatx's and graspings rounded up, and I had about 3-4 SS's up on the Aatx's. They'll die fast from SS but they'll still use the skill.
Edit: Give me a moment and I'll post the build I was using. |

This will be for a SS/Perma team
[Template; OAVCY8xTeYJ4ChDCtq6UFjD] This would be for a SS/55 Team [Template; OAVEELVGd8sEyDCNRgHsHAH6EA] And yeah, that could work. You could probably trade one of the Desecrate/Defile Enchantments with that as your SS will be dealing out alot of damage once you get 3-4 (Would be good to have a 40/40 Curse Set) SS's up on the mobs. But make sure to ALWAYS cast SS on Aatx's and not the Graspings as the Graspings will die before the Aatxs and thus rendering your SS a waste and have to cast them again. |

I hate to say this, but "back in the day" when I would 55 (or SS) I'd have the SS try to pop up the Nightmares. If it was clear I'd move in and if I triggered one while I was aggroing then I'd put up Spell Breaker. As long as you're not aggroing over three people the foes won't break aggro during SS. The trickiest part is Smites since they sometimes come in fours, but it's still not much of a challenge. For Smites and Graspings alike, just make sure to spend some time draining their energy. Also, make sure the 55 keeps the foes bunched. It's really a pain when one Aatxe drops and the other still has 50% health. It doesn't make it any harder, but it's definitely a time vampire if this occurs more than once.
As others have suggested, there are many more new and popular alternatives, but the 55/SS is still a working option. As far as a route is concerned I used to just go through the Aatxes and Smites and call it good. Coldfires were never really worth the time for me, but they can also be done. Long answer, but if you skim over it I'm sure you'll find something insightful. |

You want to farm? Maybe looking in the farming forum would help! Hey look, there's a sticky at the top of the farming forum that talks about running SS/55 UW! Like omg!
